This rescue is run by the national breed club, the United Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizsla Association (www.uhwva.com ). Our mission is to aid Wire-Haired Vizslas who have been abandoned to shelters, picked up as strays, or surrendered to the rescue program by owners who can no longer care for them. We are supported entirely by donations, and therefore welcome/appreciate any donations of funds or supplies.
In our first year, we placed two female Wire-Haired Vizslas in need. Both are now happily living in their new forever homes.
Rory and Holly,(below) both successfully rehomed in 2008.
Fortunately, we do not get many dogs into rescue, due to the small numbers of Wire-Haired Vizslas in this country, but we do sometimes have a dog who needs a new home. If you feel adopting an adult dog would be the right choice for you, please feel free to fill out the application for adoption on the UHWVA website (www.uhwva.com)
Also, if interested in volunteering your time to foster, transport, or evaluate a dog, get in touch with us as well and request a volunteer application. There are many ways in which you can help by volunteering in the area of your expertise.
We always welcome support to help us achieve the goal of safely rehoming dogs in need. We welcome donations of supplies, or monetary donations to our rescue funds.
We also get a percentage of all sales if you choose our club for your chosen rescue when buying cool dog toys on www.helpingudders.com . Be sure to choose the United Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizsla Association as your recipient of the donations when requested during the order process.(you'll find us listed under Vizsla in the Rescue list )
